About Kelly Hamilton, R.Ac

I have always felt a passion for helping people, connecting, and being of service. My path to becoming and Acupuncturist was full of many twists and turns educationally and personally, all culminating to a place where learning Chinese Medicine felt like the perfect place to land - the ideal blend between physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

I completed a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Victoria in 2019. During this same timeline I delved into natural health studies through my workplace at a local Health Store and earned an Applied Nutrition Certificate from Alive Academy. I worked in the world of Natural Health as a Product Advisor for over a decade, gaining a ton of practical knowledge about traditional food practices, nutritional supplements, and natural movement.

When the pandemic hit and Mental Health/Addictions became a glaring social issue that felt close to home, I went back to school to get an Addiction Studies Certificate from Vancouver Island University in 2021. I worked as a Mental Health Support Worker at an in-patient Mental Health and Addiction Centre that focused on trauma for 2 years completing training in Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to support those with a myriad of psychological disorders.

During this timeline I was dealing with personal health concerns and found relief for some of my symptoms with Acupuncture. The more I learned about Chinese Medicine it became clear it combines everything I had grown interested in - a way to support healing preventatively and holistically in a field combining Ancient Wisdom and cutting edge ever-evolving Science. So began the last leg of my formal education: I became an Acupuncturist through Pacific Rim College, completing my program in 2024.
